Corozal Basketball team a champion


The Julian Cho Technical High School boys trampled over the Northern Zone champs, the Muffles College boys 59-44 to win the high school basketball national championship, at the Andres Campos Civic Center in Corozal Town over the weekend.
The Julian Cho boys were led by Arick Nicholas with 25 points while Muffles’ Dwayne Avila top-scored with 18pts.
For 3rd place, the Western Zone champs, the Sacred Heart College boys won 69-59 against Central Regional champions, Gwen Liz. SHC were led by Afrie Black and Kyron Molina with 14pts apiece.
The 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners received team trophies and individual medals while the individual awards for Most Points, Most Rebounds, Most Blocks and MVP went to Arik Nicholas of Julian Cho, while Most Steals went to Gwen Liz’s Devontae Middleton.
