Belizeans felt the shake this afternoon shortly after 2pm.
An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 6.4 struck 7 miles east-northeast of Tres Picos, Mexico on Thursday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The quake struck at 11:49 a.m. Los Angeles time.
The quake was centered 20 miles northwest of Pijijiapan, Chiapas, the U.S. Geological Survey says
