Mayor’s and Minister’s Cup hold second round of games

The San Pedro Sports Council held the second round of games for the Mayor’s and Minister’s Cup on Wednesday, December 23rd at the Honorable Louis Sylvester Sporting Complex. Island football fans enjoyed a fun night of football as the last two games of the year brought much enthusiasm. The tournament ended the year with two energetic matches between Jokers against San Mateo and Ambergris Divers against Catrachos. The first match started at 7PM and saw The Jokers facing San Mateo. The exciting match saw San Mateo team opening with a score. Jokers answered with a goal, determined to take the win away. But by the end of the second half, San Mateo had scored, taken the lead and ended beating Jokers with a clean score of 3-1. The sporting action will continue on Sunday beginning at 3PM, with Peace Makers taking on Veterans and Progresso Boys facing Sky Energy Team. All fans are encouraged to come out and support their favorite teams every weekend.
