What is Norwegian Cruise Line Really Doing? Affected Reservation where delayed until November 206

▪ Norwegian Cruise Line has postponed the opening of its new port in Belize for nine months. Ships had been scheduled to start making calls at Harvest Caye in February, but Norwegian said this week that the port won’t open until November, and ships will call at Belize City instead. The company said guests who had booked passage on the affected cruises would be notified of the change in itineraries.
Neither the cruise line nor Belize tourism officials would answer questions or comment on the reason for the long delay.
▪ Talk about farm-to-table dinners: On Holland America’s new ship, ms Koningsdam, it will be only a matter of feet from the garden plot to the tables of its Culinary Arts Center. The Culinary Arts Center, where cooking classes and demonstrations are held, will have a glassed-in growing area for microgreens, which will be harvested and used in some dishes during dinners in the center. The “farming” will be done by Koppert Cress, a Netherlands company that specializes in growing microgreens. The $50 million project has been in court in Belize, and on Thursday, news media there reported that the Supreme Court had ruled that the Belize government had illegally shortcut the public comment period on the environmental impacts of the port in order to fast-track it. The court did not order any stoppage of work on Harvest Caye, however.
The ship is set to debut in April and spend the summer in Europe, then sail Caribbean cruises out of Fort Lauderdale starting in November
